Thermal spraying of thin metallic coatings

Metallic coatings are very easy to manufacture using thermal and cold gas
spraying technologies. However, if coating thicknesses well below 50 µm are demanded
as a result of economic or technological requirements, this often constitutes
a challenge for the established spraying procedures. For this purpose, obz
innovation has developed special coating processes which permit the manufacture
of metallic coatings down to below 20 µm. This is particularly interesting for
cold-gas-sprayed coatings with high purities and very good electrical conductivities,
e.g. made of silver. In this way, these gain a direct economic advantage, often
over established thin coating procedures too.
