This article deals with two different coating procedures with thermal spraying (high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying and atmospheric plasma spraying (APS)). In this respect, new results are highlighted for the determination of the processrelevant parameters with different diagnostic methods using the examples
of tomography (TOMO) and laser doppler anemometry (LDA) as well as sound emission detection (SED).
