The article deals with the manufacture and application of CFRPs (carbon-fibrereinforced plastics) which are appropriate for coating and, in contrast with conventionally fabricated FRPs (fibre-reinforced plastics), permit coating with arc wire spraying, APS and HVOF spraying without any particular fabrication technology aids. It introduces different methods of fabricating semi-finished products using laminate and winding techniques as well as a large number of coating variants (processes and materials). The results were incorporated into the revision of the DVS 2315 technical bulletin: Thermally sprayed coatings on components made of unreinforced and fibre-reinforced plastics.
