Performance-Controlled Laser Cladding of MetallicGlasses

The following article addresses the processing of metallic glasses by laser
cladding. The scientific focus, from a technical system point of view, lies on
a performance-controlled energy coupling of the laser, adjusted to the substrate,
for the layer- and geometry generation within the path-planning process.
To precisely quantify the heat input and to validate rheological effects
during the solidification of applied metal fractions, additional high-speed
thermography is employed, which will allow conclusions to be drawn regarding
the formation of structures depending on the thermal input.
