This article highlights those initial results with regard to the development of the validation of the veloc-ity/temperature/particle measurements in processes based on plasma, wire arc and HVOF spraying which have arisen in the course of IGF Project No.: 19.960N / DVS No.: 02.098. In this respect, it explains the general questions about the validation operations with regard to temper-ature/particle measurements, then portrays some separate and special results when different particle diag-nostic systems are used and assesses them using additional diagnostic methods. As a representative here, wire arc spraying should serve as the test object for the determination of the individual particle parameters. It concludes with a summary and a preview of further investigations in relation to other particle characteristics.
