Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Nowotny

Steffen Nowotny, born in 1957, studied machine building in Dresden from 1978 to 1983. In 1987 he fin...Steffen Nowotny, born in 1957, studied machine building in Dresden from 1978 to 1983. In 1987 he finished his PhD on Laser Treatment of Thermally Sprayed Coatings. Currently he manages the team Laser Cladding and Additive Manufacturing at Fraunhofer IWS in Dresden. He is responsible for applied R&D projects in Laser Surface Cladding, Generative Processes, and System Technology as well as the supervision of industrial users. Also, he has a lectureship on Laser Materials Processing at the HTW University of Applied Sciences Dresden.
