Dr. Jörg Oberste Berghaus

Jörg Oberste Berghaus obtained his Ph.D. from McGill University in 2001 in the field of thermal plasma chemical vapor deposition. In 2003, he then joined the National Research Council of Canada where he worked in thermal spray technologies for the aerospace, energy and biomedical sectors and pioneered suspension plasma and suspension HVOF spraying. In 2008, he joined Bekaert and then Soleras Advanced Coatings in Belgium where he led the development for large-area magnetron sputter solution for flexible electronics, EMI, low-e-glass, thin film batteries, photovoltaics and protective anti-reflect cover-glass coatings for mobile devices and other applications. Jörg is now back at the National Research Council of Canada as Technical Leader for Surface Engineering and Protection Means for Harsh Environments. He is active in surface technologies for over 20 years with a focus on thermal spray and PVD coatings.
