Prof. Kesong Zhou is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, former President of Guangzhou Re...Prof. Kesong Zhou is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, former President of Guangzhou Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals. He graduated from Tsinghua University of Technology in 1965. After he worked in Stony Brook as a visiting scholar for 2 years, he founded the surface engineering research center at Guangzhou Research Institute of Nonferrous Metals (now Guangdong Institute of New Materials) in 1983. His research focuses had expanded from the starting thermal spray technology into advanced modern surface engineering, including thermal spray, PVD and laser technology after more than 30s’ development. He was elected as Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2009 for the distinguished achievements in R&D and applications in modern surface engineering.
