Xin-Hai Li conducts applications and research on thermal barrier and various protective and function...Xin-Hai Li conducts applications and research on thermal barrier and various protective and functional coatings for land-based gas turbines at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB in Sweden. He received his undergraduate degree in physics from Fudan University in Shanghai and PhD degrees in thin film physics from Linköping University in Sweden, and joined since 1995 ABB, Alstom, and Siemens, respectively. He has been nominated as a specialist in 1998, a senior specialist in 2010, and a Siemens expert in 2014 in areas of coatings and ceramics for turbines. Within the company career, he has supervised 12 thesis projects and also co-supervised 3 PhD students. He has published and co-published more than 50 scientific articles and theses and 10 patents.
