Dr.-Ing. Irene Garcia Cano

Her professional trajectory runs in the field of materials engineering. She is civil Engineer and gained her Science phD in 2002 with the work focused on ceramic materials obtained by SHS. She worked at Liege University during one year and nowadays she is lecturer at Barcelona University being in charge of Energy Division in Thermal Spray Centre. Also, she is responsible of New Materials Production in the CPT group. She has actively participated in EU projects during the last years and is author of several SCI publications. Now, she is the manager of a 7th Frame Program project and collaborates with both international and national research groups in Materials Science field. She has organized two summer schools focused on Cold Gas Spray and recently, she is organizing the XIII Spanish Materials Science Congress that will be held on 2014.
