Dr. Mathias Woydt

Dr. Mathias Woydt studied and received his Ph.D. from the Berlin University of Technology. Currently he is head of the sub-division VI.2 "Tribology, Wear Protection" of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin. He has 22 years of experience in R&D of ceramics, ceramic composites, thin film coatings and thermally sprayed coatings as well as lubricant formulations and in tribo-testing including their dissemination into industrial applications. He has more than 190 publications and 41 patents filed. He is chairman of the SRV test methods DIN 51834, parts 1-3, and ASTM D5706, D5707, D6425, D7217, D7421 and WK 17038. He has participated in six European R&D projects, four projects from the German Ministry of Research and Education, two projects of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and in nine projects from the German Science Foundation.
