Grit Michael, born in 1960, studied Materials Engineering and Materials Testing at the Engineering College for Materials Engineering and Automation in Henningsdorf. In 1983, she began working at the Central Institute for Solid-State Physics and Materials Research at AdW in Dresden as a Research Engineer in the field of hard metal materials. Since 1991, she has worked in the Structural Ceramic Division at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Sintering Materials (IKTS) in the working areas: structural development and characterisation
