Dr. Jörg Bretschneider

Jörg Bretschneider, born in 1960, studied Physics and Mathematics at the Teacher Training College in Dresden and obtained his doctor's degree in 1986 on the subject of the Temperature dependence of the yield stress of nickel monocrystals subjected to cyclic stress-strain also in Dresden. Thereafter, he worked in the subject area of physics at the Technical University of Dresden until 2000. Since 2001, he has been employed at Fraunhofer IWS Dresden in the Materials Engineering / Materials Characterisation Group. His interest centres on work relating to electron microscopy and analyses of cases of damage.
