Dr. Petr Fiala

Dr. Petr Fiala is the Materials R&D manager at Oerlikon Metco Canada located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Petr obtained his Master’s and Postgraduate Degrees in Materials Engineering from the University of West Bohemia with Master’s thesis on thermal barrier coatings and PhD thesis on HVOF sprayed chromium carbide coatings. Petr has been working on research projects dealing with hardfacing materials and abradables for 25 years. He is a long time member of ASM International and American Welding Society.
